In 2016, NID participated in Paris Design Week alongside with Finnish designers. Focusing on ceramics, we showcased a wide selection of designs, mixing archetypal Nordic features; natural materials, high-quality and minimalism with unexpected details. This event encouraged a dialogue between the two neighboring countries. Therefore, Estonian and Finnish ceramic design reflects the proximity of these two cultures, as well as their specific characteristics. To create a link between Estonian, Finnish and French design and to attract more design enthusiasts, NID envisions a discussion about contemporary (ceramic) design and a vernissage.

PARTICIPATING CERAMISTS: Annike Laigo, Eeva Jokinen, Ene Raud, Eva Spoof, Jarõna Ilo, Helina Nelis, Heidi Aulikki Puumalainen, Heini Riitahuhta, Karmen Saat, Kadi Hektor, Mariana Laan, Matias Liimatainen, Mirjam Loks and Veera Tamminen.

The participation of Estonian designers is supported by The Estonian Embassy in Paris, The Ministry of Culture of Estonia, The Cultural Endowment of Estonia and by Shipitwise.
