Offset: Estonian jewellery design exhibition in Paris

Paris Design Week 2017 @ Galerie Résidences / 59 rue de Bretagne, 75003 Paris

NID-newsletter-1_06

In 2017, NID decided to focus particularly on jewellery design because it has emerged over the recent years as one of the most distinctive areas in the Estonian design landscape.
The selection was based first of all on original and unexpected choice of material. “Offset” marked a shift in the use of traditional materials in the jewellery art. Visitors had chance to have a closer look at the dry mushrooms’ mystical texture, titanium’s vivid structure, crystal vases’ shining sides as well as squashed wire sponge’s rough surface.
Participating designers: Sille Luiga, Merlin Meremaa, Maarja Niinemägi, Darja Popolitova, Kairi Sirendi, Tanel Veenre
Sponsors: the Ministry of Culture of Estonia, the Cultural Endowment of Estonia, the Estonian Embassy in Paris, Makkouk Disque Club, ÖselBirch, Viru Õlu, Makkouk Disquare Club.
