Finno-Ugric approach to sustainable lifestyle

Shoreditch Design Triangle in London

NID-newsletter-1_06

In September 2019, NID launched its very first pop up showroom in London under Shoreditch Design Triangle. The core of the showroom was sustainable approach in Estonian and Finnish design: environmentally conscious production, low footprint, local organic materials, up-cycling and recycling. All together NID introduced more than 30 designers from these two neighbouring countries.

In addition to the exhibition, a series of other events took place: product tastings and meet and greet opportunities with some of the designers. One of the highlights was a panel discussion in collaboration with the Finnish Institute in London and Disegno, where Reet Aus (EST), Eva Spoof (FIN) and Dust London (UK) shared their experiences and knowledge about sustainable design. Before the discussion Bea of SOLi invited the visitors for a relaxing tea ceremony “Sip of Life”.
